Glenn NP Nowak

Professor of Architecture at UNLV

Glenn NP Nowak earned his Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design degrees from Ball State University, and he received a post-professional Master of Architecture degree at Cornell University.  He currently teaches architectural theory and design studios at introductory and advanced levels at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas’ School of Architecture.  As Foundation Studies Coordinator, he authored “13 Ways of Looking at Architectural Theory” a textbook for beginning design students.  As Interim Director of the UNLV Downtown Design Center, Glenn was integral to the advancement of the center’s emphasis on inter-disciplinary design investigations and the nurturing of public and private partnerships.  Nowak is the founder of the Hospitality Design (HD) Concentration, an unprecedented integration of the architectural profession with the academy.  Professor Nowak has led students in the concentration to win several international design competitions and research awards.  His own research has been published with the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture and presented across the country and around the world.
